Lieferzeit: 4 - 7 Tage " Blandy’s Bual 1920 (bottled 2006) *****
Mid-deep mahogany; very fine, pure and aromatic, really sings from
the glass; crystallised fruits, marmalade too with a dry edge, pungent
and powerful, crème brulée character with a thick-cut marmalade finish.
Big but not brutish with very refined bitter-sweet zesty length. There
is still one barrel of this wine left to bottle! 19" Richard Mayson 6/2011 Amber; crème brûlée, vanilla and mint; medium-sweet, delicate, fragrant. Michael Broadbent, May 1990 "Fine medium/dark tawny colour. Beautiful nose: quite volatile and estery, but lovely notes of Benedictine, herbs, caraway and liquorice, with a richer walnutty character beneath. There is a certain date and sultana fruitiness, but a dry, nut-husk character dominates. On the palate it is lively and tangy. There's a note of chicory and bittersweet espresso, with cherry skin tang and acidity continuing that bright, quite phenolic character. There's fantastic intensity here, and although the wine has a certain edgy attack and not the soft, opulent character you might expect given its age, I thought this was very fine. 94" - Tom Cannavan 7/07
